Tasting Notes

This wine is the most complex varietal blend yet of the Tres Tintos lineage. It is a big full bodied wine with full, dark fruit aromas and a rich texture full of dark berry fruits and well balanced oak characteristics of bittersweet chocolate and vanilla tones. The increase of Malbec over previous vintages gives the wine a big full midpalate without increasing the weight of the tannins. A significant blend component of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc provides an ample structure of tannin while at the same time lifting the aromatic intensity. The Syrah is a non-traditional varietal for this type of blend, although we have found the peppery spice to be a wonderful component in our blending trials.
