Tasting Notes

We have been very happy with how Merlot has performed on the property over the years. The fruit has grown well, producing exceptional wine of character, balanced texture and full body. The 2011 Merlot has a deep garnet color. The aromas are dark and smoky evoking dark berries and smoky vanilla. The texture of the wine is full, as the tannins are medium firm. The midpalate is a nice counterbalance for the weight of the tannins so the wine maintains a nice equilibrium on the palate. The finish is full and the wine ends with a smoky and dark aspect lingering for a while. This wine will age gracefully for years but can also be enjoyed in its youth.

Best enjoyed after decanting and served with filet mignon or ribeye.
